Membership

Supreme Sikh Council UK is membership-based, democratic and representative. It draws its members mainly from Gurdwaras and other established national Sikh organisations. Thus, it draws its right of representation through them.

Any organisation that has existed in the UK for at least two years (for the benefit of the Sikh community), can apply to become an Affiliated Member Organisation, such as:

  • Gurdwaras (Sikh temples)
  • Local and Regional Gurdwara Councils
  • Jathebandis (Sikh Interest Groups)
  • Campaign Groups
  • Youth Organisations
  • Women’s Organisations
  • Educational Establishments
  • Social and Welfare Organisations

Why should my organisation join?

Join Supreme Sikh Council (UK), because:

• We are successful in delivering our objectives and continue to form our administrations having stood the test of time.

• We are the largest democratically and politically neutral body of British Sikhs with government and community credibility.

• We continue to be the first and main point of contact for individuals, media and agencies.

• We bring our members to state-level governance, representation, and activism.

• Member organisations have a seat at the panthic table and can exert influence towards its positive change and wellbeing. (Only those that have made national insurance? contributions and have two years of accounts can join).

• All Gurdwaras can join. They can elect delegates who may benefit from high levels of governance, representation, and activism. They may also discharge their responsibility of wider community/panthic matters as part of our collective.
